Oh wow, I’ve been absent-minded

I can’t believe it’s been over a month since I last updated my blog, talk about a major slacker. The semester has been over for two weeks and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve been so happy to have free time at nights to do whatever I want. But this month’s been busy still. Last week, we went to visit my family for Christmas and took a week off of work. I can say that both were very much needed. The vacation was nice, it was much warmer in Georgia than we had anticipated and much more humid than we wanted. But it was nice anyway.
There were some nice presents that came my way, far more than I had expected and wanted. I gave donations to Heifer International in my family’s name, which my mother also did for myself and my girlfriend this year and last year. I finally got a nice mortar and pestle as well, I’m waiting on my father to ship it to me before I can use it. I envision some chile pastes being made quite soon, for some delicious burgers. The girlfriend got me both Digging For The Truth seasons on DVD and a new ocean fishing rod. Both are awesome. Now I need to get her a rod so we can go snag some kingfish at the Deerfield Pier! She also got me some new 2ga ear plugs which are pretty sweet even if one pair ripped my piercing hole a little. Apparently, she has more gifts coming my way but they’re on back order.
I managed to pass all my classes this semester, however I did receive a lower grade than I wanted — but higher than expected — in Professor Keshodkar’s class. The other class was no problem since it was so easy in the first place. I’m looking forward to attempting to lighten the reading load next semester even though I’ve signed up for Anthropology of Religion which my girlfriend did have to read quite a bit for when she took it. I think I’m slated to take another McCarthy class although I can’t remember right now since I registered over a month ago. Overall, should be a good semester that hopefully won’t be too busy.
I finally got a replacement seat for the motorcycle today, so I need to put the new seat on her and try it out. the foam is much softer than what’s on my current seat but it’s pretty banged. It was two shades of brown (the seat is black) and has a few rips, so far I’ve gotten it back to a black color. I’ll be sending that off to get re-done soon enough at Mean City Cycles. I just need to figure out how much that’s going to cost and weigh that with getting a motorcycle jack+tool chest. The seat is a bit of a luxury at the moment because it works fine for me but my girlfriend doesn’t like it too much without a sissy bar. But I really need to get a jack so I can change the oil and lube the chain — the latter of which I badly need to get done.
It’s taken me forever to write this short post since I’ve been writing during downtime at work. Now, I’ve got to go take my lunch break!
