I do know that centuries ago, before Persia came to be, just about anyone east of Iraq was labeled as "Oriental" and some of that nomenclature still holds true today as "Orientalists" are anthropologists or sociologists who specialize in early Near East cultures. While there is archaeological evidence of Caucasians living in China quite some time ago, I don't think this would apply to the Kenites because, well, just about everyone from that region would be tanned or olive skinned, just as they are today. No one would be white or ruddy more than likely. I’m not sure how Strongs figured out they were Oriental, that’s a mystery. I can reason that since Cain went east to Nod, and if Eden was somewhere up east of the Caspian sea, then he would have migrated into China. Then of course his descendants would have had to come down to Canaan. There is in fact archeological evidence of white people having been in that area in neolithic times. However, there's contention over whether they are Canaanites, Midianites (which is mentioned in Numbers), a mixing of Jews and Canaanites, or another group altogether. I suspect they were a mix of Egyptians and Jews given that Jethro was Moses' father-in-law and both were of Egyptian birth.
