Just installed Flock (again)

So let’s see if their blog editor works better than it used to.

Well dang

I don’t think Alex King is updating Twitter Tools any more and it’s the best twitter plugin I’ve found. Crap!

I like you, MineKey

But something is up with you, you just endlessly extend the length of my page without end! Sigh, I really liked you too, so pretty and useful. I guess I may need to switch back to the other rolling blogroll script I was using.

I hardly knew ye!

Hmmmm

Something in 2.3 doesn’t play well with my theme or UTW…

edit: had to disable UTW and ELA as they both queried for the old dead tables. Shame too, UTW is just too awesome

Ahhh, new WordPress

So I see that Netenberg finally decided to update WordPress in Fantastico, a full month after 2.3 came out and a week after 2.3.1 came out. Took their sweet time, I swear. While it’s a great product to have, these guys really drag their ass on updating things. 2.3 was slated for update back in September and they kept saying “oh, it’s coming soon, don’t worry”. I don’t call 5 weeks “soon”.

OK nevermind….

Last weekend, I sent a few tweets while we were at the Sonata Arctica show but I just realized that none of them actually showed up here, like they should. The error_log provided by Cpanel does little to actually offer helpful information, I’ve dealt with the problem at work quite a bit but never got a real definitive answer as to “why” the error occurs aside from some lame local resolver issue.

Now they’re showing up. This is why I hate my server company and their crappy backbone.

Tangled Bank 87

The new Tangled Bank blog carnival is up at Balancing Life. I have so much reading to do this weekend :( . Maybe Shisha or Funky Buddha have free wifi I can use while imbibing sweet coffees and aromatic shisha?

Welcome CotG visitors

I was recently featured in the latest Carnival of the Godless blog carnival. I want to welcome all the new visitors who will hopefully turn into readers! The new edition is up at the Atheist Revolution and go read it, it’s very good this week.

I submitted my post on the lady from West Palm Beach who wants to ban books she’s never read from her sons’ school libraries. I’m going to try and do a follow up on this shortly because I want to know how far this woman didn’t get with this.

New Boneyard’s here

No, it’s not a new barbecue restaurant or anything like, it’s a new edition of The Boneyard, a paleontology-focused blog carnival. The new one is up at Laelaps and is a refreshing read.

How awesome is paleontology?

Blogroll change-up

I’ve now changed the static blogroll to a rolling, live version of my actual feeds in my feed reader. It’s far more replete than my static blogroll ever would be. I almost chose Minekey over rollSense but MineKey lacks a key feature: OPML import. Why they left this out I have no idea because I’m not going to go through and add 60+ feeds manually when rollSense lets me upload my OPML file instead.

It will take a few days for it to start recommending more appropriate content and if it doesn’t, I’ll just switch over to the latest feeds option it offers me.
