Is this semester almost over?

Why yes, it is! Only a few more weeks and a few more papers to go and we’ll be out for winter break. Can’t wait. I’m definitely taking a lighter workload next semester, hopefully less papers, more reading. I’ve got to start my paper on the changing identities of evangelicals of early America soon, hopefully this weekend.
Busy week this has been. I got my motorcycle endorsement on Monday and have been trying to find anything and everything I can do to ride my motorcycle (metallic blue 1989 Honda Shadow VT600C VLX). Of course, the more I do that, the more I find that I need to work on. Last night the turn signals quit, today I’ve got to clean the carbs because the fuel’s running lean and backfiring. I’ve got to take her to a shop in Dania tomorrow to get a new front tire mounted.
And this weekend’s busy too. Tonight’s the monthly Binrev meeting at Holloway’s Pub, woot! And tomorrow (aside from spending 2 hours at the shop) is the Brewtopia Beer Festival at Morikami and that should be a blast. Sunday’s another photo shoot up in West Palm Beach — not really looking forward to that one. All-in-all another busy but fun weekend except for that whole paper I need to write.
It’s only 3:15PM, why isn’t work over yet?
Why can’t Halloween last all weekend?

So the weekend has come and gone, full of fun events. We did not make it to the haunted house in Miami that we had planned go to go but we did make it to Wicked Manors on Friday. It was pretty fun even though I had a fairly bad migraine all day, partly because of a sleep issue, partly because my cowboy hat didn’t fit at all and squeezed my head. There were some amazing costumes there and some fairly bad ones too. It looked like some of the guys there simply found whatever they had in their closets and put it on and called it a costume, others actually put a lot of work into their costumes and it really showed.
The whole weekend was a blast but I didn’t really want to come back to work. I wanted to hang out in costumes all day and act like Wyatt Earp, minus pistol whipping people. My girlfriend simply looked amazing but I know her costume was quite a production, the hair alone took 4 hours. I’m now beardless and I’m pretty saddened at the fact
. I’ve still got a handlebar mustache but the rest of my face feels very cold and naked.
We also saw Zach & Miri Make a Porno and it was quite entertaining. It does well to lampoon some of the absurdities of porn, such as “story lines” or “plots” but was also very well written and pretty hilarious. Jason Mewes was excellent in his role. He really got into his role, if you’ve seen it, you’ll understand what I mean. I’m interested in what Kevin Smith will put in the director’s cut to make it even more raunchy than it already was. I would love to see the porno they were actually making, it has to be hilarious to watch.
